Aspheric Optics
TestArc, Opticon Mirror Works, can manufacture aspheric metal mirrors in prototype to volume-production quantities at a fraction of the cost of glass aspheric components. Surfaces and coatings suitable for use in the deep UV through the far IR can be produced with accuracies to quarter wave. We can design and manufacture substrates with integral mounts and kinematic adjustments that simply "bolt into place;" no additional alignment or adjustment is necessary for assembly into the instrument. Flat and spherical glass optical components are widely available at relatively low costs, in standard sizes and shapes. For applications that require custom shapes, sizes and materials, the cost of optics can reach prohibitive levels. TestArc, Opticon Mirror Works, offers an alternative to costly glass optics: custom metal reflectors. Metal mirrors offer a better overall value. Spectral coverage is much broader than with glass optics and mounting can be integral to the mirror so you have a single element that is less costly and more rugged. Performance meets the most demanding of imaging and energy collection applications. Contact TestArc's Opticon Mirror Works for a quotation on OEM quantities of flat, aspheric, two-sided or other custom shapes and sizes of metal mirrors. We encourage you to compare the cost of your current glass optical system to a metal system. TestArc, Opticon Mirror Works, offers standard and custom reflecting microscope objectives. Our standard line includes two models: a 15X and 36X objective. In quantities of 25 or more, we can custom design and manufacture reflecting microscoe objectives to suit your application. Our objectives offer significant advantages over traditional, glass objectives. Because they are metallic, they do not suffer from the chromatic aberrations that can plague glass objectives. They also have a much broader usable wavelength range (from the deep UV to the far IR). Different reflective coatings are offered to maximize performance in your wavelength region of interest.Retro-Reflectors And Arrays
TestArc's Opticon Mirror Works' retro-reflectors are hollow, all-metal monolithic optical components. True monolithic cube-corner and roof mirrors offer bolt-in-place mounting, real thermal stability, and extreme resistance to shock and vibration; they are ideally suited for use in field applications. We can manufacture metal retro-reflectors in almost any shape, even asymmetrical, in sizes up to 60 mm in aperture. We also design and manufacture arrays of multiple hollow prisms that can be assembled and mounted in protective enclosures for long range sensing applications. The construction as well as the performance of the retro-reflector or array is tailored to the application; accuracies to 3 arc s are possible.
For research applications, we offer our most popular retro-reflectors as "off-the-shelf" items; click here for a selection. For systems integration, we custom design and manufacture the components. To discuss your requirements with an Applications Engineer, please contact us.
